Strategic Clarity Session | David McQueen

This page is not publicly listed. You have it because someone thought you should.

Clarity when the
decision matters.

A private 90 minute session designed to help you think through a specific challenge with precision. This is focused, consequence-aware thinking applied to your situation.

Used by founders, senior leaders and operators navigating moments that carry weight.

Direct thinking whose
only obligation
is clarity.

Many executives and senior executives need to think more clearly about the decision in front of them.

This session is ninety minutes of structured, consequence-aware thinking applied to one specific thing you are navigating. A decision, a pressure point, a moment that carries more weight than the time available to resolve it.

The questions will be direct. The thinking will be focused on what is true, not what is comfortable. The output is clarity on the decision in front of you and a written reflection sent within 24 hours to capture what the session surfaced.

In ninety minutes, we focus on the decision rather than the noise around it. Focusing on what the situation actually requires of you now.

The stakes are real.
The timeline is short.
The consequences are
not fully visible.

These are the conditions in which decisions are most likely to be made poorly because of proximity, pressure, and the absence of a genuinely independent view that removes the conditions that make good thinking possible. This session restores those conditions for the duration of the work.

High-Stakes Presentations

For boardrooms, investor rooms, conference stages, and internal moments that define your credibility.

We work on narrative, structure, contetxt and delivery, and how your judgement holds under pressure.

Company Structure and Formation

Setting up the right structures for what you are building. Clarity on vehicles, positioning, and how decisions made now affect the flexibility available to you later

This is not tax or financial advise but scoping out what you need.

Fundraising Strategy

Not just how to raise but whether you should raise, when, and why.

Exploring mindset, sequencing, and the second and third-order consequences of bringing in capital before the you have committed to a decision.

Leadership Progression

Stepping into roles where expectations have outpaced preparation. Working through pressure, authority, and decision responsibility when the margin for error has narrowed and the room is watching.

Decisions Without a Clean Outside View

A consequential call where everyone in your circle has a stake in the outcome, a relationship to protect, or an incentive to tell you what you want to hear. The outside view is not a luxury here it is the only structurally honest one available.

Focused on what is live, what is building, and what is about to become consequential.

The session responds to what you bring. These are the areas in which the work most commonly applies — not a menu to choose from, but a map of the territory the 90 minutes may cross.

  • Decision clarity and consequence mapping — what is actually being decided, what the options genuinely cost, and what cannot be undone once committed to
  • Assumptions that have not been examined — the thinking beneath the thinking, and what is being treated as settled that may not be
  • Narrative and communication under scrutiny — what you say, how it lands, and whether the gap between intended and received is working against you
  • Fundraising, capital, and investor readiness — the logic, sequencing, and second-order consequences of the approach before you commit to it
  • Structure, formation, and strategic positioning — how decisions made now affect the options available later
  • Leadership coherence under pressure — the alignment between what you say matters and what your behaviour signals when the pressure is highest

The session follows the problem and context. The structure is organised around what you are navigating, not what is convenient to cover.

Three parts.
One focus.
The agenda is set by you.

The session is structured around your situation. The work begins from the moment you submit the brief.

Before

Pre-Session Brief

Required · Submitted in advance

You submit a short written brief before we meet explaining the situation, the decision, and what is at stake. This is the beginning of the thinking. It means the session starts inside the work, not with the setup of it.

The brief allows me to come prepared having already considered your situation before we speak, rather than diagnosing it in real time at your expense.

During

The Session

90 Minute Session

We work through the problem in real time. I will ask questions you have not been asked, push on assumptions that are carrying the most weight, and name what the people around you may not be willing to name.

This is not a comfortable process. It is a useful one. The focus is on what is true, reassuring, or consistent with the direction already committed to.

After

Written Reflection

Sent within 24 hours · Included

A short written roadmap with key insights, the risks you may be underestimating, and the clearest version of the direction available to you. This is yours. Not a proposal. Not a pitch for further work.

Some of what it contains you will recognise immediately. Some of it will take a day or two to land. That is the nature of the work.

Confidence
and clarity.

  • A clearer view of the decision in front of you — what it actually is, not the version that has been compressed under pressure
  • The risks you may be underestimating — the second and third-order consequences not yet visible from where you stand
  • A sharper narrative — if communication is part of what is at stake, a more defensible version of how you tell it
  • Greater confidence in the direction you choose — not because the uncertainty has gone, but because the thinking behind the decision is now more honest

Some sessions end here — and that is entirely appropriate. Others mark the beginning of a longer working relationship. That is always your call, not mine. The session does not lead to a pitch.

Fixed Fee · Single Session £1,500 The 90 Minute Session · Paid at confirmation

Paid in full when the session is confirmed. No invoice to follow. No payment chasing. If a session cannot be accommodated, payment is returned in full.

This is a single session. For ongoing advisory work, engagements begin from £5,000 per month. The session is not a trial of that work — it is complete in itself. If a longer relationship is appropriate, the conversation will be straightforward.

On Confidentiality

Everything discussed is confidential. Without exception. I will not reference who I have spoken with, the organisations involved, or the nature of the conversation. That is a condition of the work, not a feature of it.

This session requires certain conditions to be useful.

This session is for

  • Founders and operators building or scaling something real
  • Senior leaders navigating transition, pressure, or a defined inflection point
  • Individuals preparing for moments where visibility is high and the margin for error is low
  • Those who want to understand what is true — not confirm what they prefer
  • Leaders for whom the decision authority sits with them and the cost of thinking poorly is material

This session is not for

  • General career conversations without a live decision or specific pressure point
  • Early-stage idea validation without commitment to the direction
  • Open-ended enquiry without a specific question worth ninety minutes
  • Leaders seeking validation of a decision already made
  • Those whose primary goal is reassurance rather than honest assessment

Start with context,
not a calendar.

Six short questions about what you are navigating. Takes two minutes. If the situation warrants a session, I will confirm availability and send payment details within 48 hours.

If it does not fit — the profile, the stakes, the timing — I will tell you directly. Not every request leads to a session. That is intentional.

All submissions are treated as confidential. Your details will not be shared with third parties.

Assessment & your details

If the assessment above suggests a fit, complete the details below. I will respond within 48 hours — with a booking confirmation, a clarifying question, or an honest explanation of why the session does not fit at this time.

Three to five sentences is enough. This is the context I need to think before we speak.
Optional — but the most useful thing you can tell me.

Please complete all required fields before submitting.

All submissions are treated as confidential. Your details will not be shared with third parties.

Received.

I will review your context and respond directly within 48 hours — either to confirm availability and send payment details, to ask a clarifying question, or to explain honestly if the session is not the right fit for the situation you have described.

Not every request leads to a session. That is intentional.

Most people wait too long to think properly about decisions that matter.

By the time they ask for help, the narrative is already set, the pressure is already high, and the options are narrower than they realise. This session exists to interrupt that pattern.

Ninety minutes to get clear on a decision you cannot afford to get wrong.
