Is enterpreneurship a desperate reaction to joblessness?

Over on twitter this afternoon I suggested that being an entrepreneur should not be a reaction to joblessness.IIt sparked of a number of conversations with others who 1) asked to me to explain 2) suggested I was wrong 3) didn’t see it as a problem if it took people off the dole. All valid and reasonable responses to my comment. However I will actually take it to the next level and suggest  that entrepreneurship should not be a desperate  reaction to joblesness. Allow me to explain. Are You Desperate? Most entrepreneurs I know who have set and are running successful businesses have done so out of inspiration not desperation. OK tell the truth some have been desperate but to get their ideas out as opposed to being frustrated that they have not got a job. There is a big difference.
